About Us HUGS was founded by and is run by volunteers. We each have spent weeks or months volunteering in Uganda with the local community development organization HUGS supports, Foundation for Development of Needy Communities (FDNC). Each of us brings our professional skills to the organization as well as our passionate concern for the future health and economic vitality of the children and families of the region that we called home for a meaningful segment of our lives. 100% of all donations goes directly to programs in Uganda. The minimal administrative costs in Uganda and the U.S. are covered by contributions from our Board of Directors. Because we have experienced first-hand the skill and integrity of the FDNC staff and board, donors can have confidence that their contributions will be spent in the way intended. HUGS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations are fully tax-deductible. |
