FDNC's Community-Based Health Program is designed to improve the health and living standards of rural communities in eastern Uganda by providing training and support for health workers at the grassroots level, operating a rural health clinic, and supporting malaria prevention and treatment and HIV education, testing and treatment.
Kit of teaching materials for a community health worker
Provide a volunteer community health worker with a kit of visual aids and other teaching materials to use in educating community members about malaria and HIV/AIDS prevention, nutrition, reproductive health, and hygiene and sanitation.
Full teaching kit - $75
Single module teaching kit - $30
HIV testing for a rural village - $100
Test an entire rural village of up to 600 people for HIV. By helping community members to know their status, you will help prevent the spread of the virus in rural Uganda.
Transport to HIV treatment centers - $50
Transport a group of HIV positive community members from their rural village to regional treatment centers to receive ARV therapy or treatment of opportunistic infections.
